I'm not sure exactly where the past 3 weeks have gone, but I haven't even thought about posting on here. Seems a lot of my blogger friends have been slower at posting as well - busy time of year, or are we just taking a break from technology? With March came the beginning of attending kids' events with Grant's joining a YMCA soccer team. Jason is one of the coaches, and they are either the Green Snakes, Frogs, or Volcanoes - the team can't pick just one! We've seen some personality come out in Grant and he doesn't quite understand the concept of team. For instance, he dribbles the ball all the way down the field, and then a teammate comes and kicks it in, which results in mega tears and "I quit" from my son. So, we've had to have some talks about teamwork and how we don't quit things just because it is a hard time! :) The team has been great. His best bud, Mason, is on it as well as 7 other kids, ages 3 and 4, from our preschool. Great fun!
With springtime comes beautiful flowers! I love the bradford pear trees and redbud trees when they bloom, but mostly I love the flowers and colors that come alive with warmer weather. Here is a picture of my hot pink tulips! Love them!
This picture from Grant might be my most favorite piece of art I have from him. At school, they are asked to journal - basically, think of something to draw a picture about and then the teacher writes down the story the kids tells them. This isn't his most favorite thing to do, and our journal entries are usually scribbles with one of these two stories: 1. this is a picture of a maze or 2. this is me scribbling both directions, up and down. That's it. So I've decided to do this a few days a week but actually push him to draw a "real" picture of something. We did this one on Monday - totally unprompted by me! How awesome is it that my fella drew a picture of three crosses and then proceeded to tell me all about the Easter story. I just love him!
