My parents have dreamed of building their home, inspired by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, for decades!  It is finished and they are thrilled.  It's funky and fun and colorful!

Just a fun observation about Kyle... he is so color blind in choosing friendships, and I love it! His three favorite people to talk about from his class are an Ethiopian, an Asian, and a Middle Eastern. :) He truly looks to see their heart and I love that he is being raised in a school and town where ethinicity doesn't really matter!
Grant was recommended for the G/T program a few weeks ago. He performs math at a 3rd grade level (the teacher's example: the class "answer" was 5 for the day, and the kids have to create 5 math problems that come up with that number - typically 2+3 and 4+1. His problems were 10/5+3 and 3x3-4. He reads 289 of the 300 SECOND grade words, gets the word "to, too and two" correctly in sentences, tells time, and did some math time test in a great time! Proud of our little smarty! He tries hard, but he sure does play hard, too.

Fort, Funny, and Fairy

I was lucky enough to be asked to spend Friday AND Saturday night with my oldest two in our fort outside. We ended up coming inside both nights at about 4 a.m. - the first night due to potty breaks, and the second to the incoming rain storm. We were much more prepared the second night with a few moonlight blockades (the full moon was VERY bright) and a noisemaker to drown out the neighborhood dog barking.

Jason came to capture our photo!
This was my finding one afternoon when I went to get Reid from his nap. He had been relatively loud for a longer period of time, so I went to peek on him. Smiling hugely! And why? Because he has discovered how to pull the sticky decorations on the wall off...and laugh about it. Notice all of the pieces on the bed next to him!

And the entire bottom portion is now missing!

Grant lost tooth #5 last week. When I went to check on him, I found this note next to his bed. "First, below stript pelow" (first below striped pillow) and then there was another one thanking the Tooth Fairy for visiting next to his tooth.

Ironically enough, the tooth fairy had decided to leave Grant a note this time as well! And $1!
