Seven!

Kyle Douglass is now 7!  It was a great day!
He wanted a nerf gun and OKC Thunder party.
Here's the cake!

Breakfast for my sweet one...

Both of them are so sleepy at 7:00!!!!  Grant loves his little bro so much.

Party decorations.

Class party in the special chair.  I made Star Wars cupcakes.

Kyle reading to his class
(more on the next entry about this)

Party time!  After everyone got here, we shot baskets for a while before loading up in the truck and going to the lot (it's gotta be useful for something now, right?!).  We started playing Capture the Flag but it quickly became too cold and we went back to our house.

Every friend got a pair of sunglasses (eye protection for nerf darts!) and a camo bag (thanks, GG) to keep their collection of extra darts in while running.

This is the group minus Mr. Sam who had to leave before presents.  We are truly blessed by this group of boys and think Kyle has done an outstanding job of selecting quality friends!  These boys are in his grade, and all but one go to our school.  One special friend is his buddy from church!

Kyle's big present from his parents and grandparents.
A Trek bike - in neon orange!  :)

One special friend was able to spend the night.
Ironically, they all had very similar PJs!
They were asleep by 9:45 and woke up after 7.  Pretty good for a sleepover!

Kyle -
You make my heart so happy and full of pride.  I am so proud of you - the young man you have become, the friend you are to others, and the joy you bring to our family.  Your love for life is so obvious in how you act.  I love that you make healthy life choices and are kind to your brothers (usually!).
Mostly, I love that God blessed me with the job of being your Mommy!  How I was lucky enough to have the three best boys, I will never know!
As you said the day of your birthday - 7 is going to be a great year!
Happy day, my love!

Secret's out!
Jason is now a Budweiser commercial star!

The big boys have been taking turns having great bonding moments with Reid.  For the past few weeks, its been Grant who has been kissing him before bed and playing cars with him. This week, its been Kyle.  They've read nighttime books, dressed in similar sweaters for church, played at the Wondertorium well together, and then cuddled in our bed.

At a field trip for Grant... with a few boys from his class.

The four of us went to the Wondertorium for MLK day.  We each had a lot of fun - more so than what I expected, especially from the big boys, as they didn't last time we went.  This time, each was creative!

I made Star Wars pancakes for lunch with our new molds.

And this has become an extremely common site - all three rough-housing together, either in the playroom or the den.  A few tears here and there, but overall, they're all having a blast.

Busy week!

Jason and I had a joint date night with two other couples! We went to dinner, then to an Irish pub, and then while the others went home, we went to top off the evening with a glass of wine for Jason.  Here's our picture wishing our friends had come with us!

These two were caught cuddling in front of Barney instead of getting ready for bed.  It was cute.  Our two little blondies.

Sad day.
Our friends, the Killians, moved.  He was offered a job on Christmas eve and they were gone on the 8th. It happened pretty quickly, but we wish them a lot of happiness in their new venture (Director of Family Camp - sounds fun!).  Another friend had a going away playdate for/with them.

Daniel Gaddis - Kyle's buddy for about 5 years!  We met them at library storytime.

Miss Lainey and G and Jackson.  The two of them were best friends so I feel extra sorry for L and J!

Mr. Cutie Patootie heading for school on a "dressy" day (which means he has to not wear athletic pants and a tshirt twice a week!).

We love our neighbors.
The boys... started out as taking down the barbed wire fence between houses so the kids can play easier/more safely, and it turned in to taking down a HUGE dead tree that the tree removal company quoted an $1,100 price tag to remove.  Get Will, Matt and Jason... and some testosterone... and it's down in no time at all!  Clint joined the chainsaw fun AFTER the tree was on its side.

GG and Reid playing at the Wondertorium!

Happy 60th!

GG's birthday is today but we celebrated a few days early.  Dinner without the kids with Wes and Anne, and then I made her favorite - German chocolate cake and put a lot of candles on it!

movie time with Bubba

E-town Friends and Mermaids!

We have some great friends on Edmond! I hitched a ride to Edmond with my mom who was going to see Granny, and I got to spend a few hours with my longtime besties! We have a lot of little kids!!! My life wouldn't be the same without Emily and Erryn!

Family movie afternoon - The Little Mermaid
It was all. I. could. do. to get these boys to sit down "for the girly show" and guess who actually laughed several times throughout the movie?!?!  Yes, they did.  I fast forwarded a few of the songs so they would stay more attentive.

Grant and J have some cozy time on the couch.

My cuddlebug!
