I get the chance on Thursdays to take a few "B" students to KLife Klub (just did it one time so far but we hope more often!). Reid has a great grade of kids and parents. This was one factor in us not holding him back in school and sending our summer birthday kid to school on time.
Cross country wrapped up with a 1st place trophy at Regionals! Wahoo, SPS! The Pioneers had 5 of the top 10 runners (there are some crazy fast dudes here). Kyle was #6 for the team.
He gutted this race to the finish and beat the guy next to him!
Kyle's group of cross country friends are so fun. One of them had 6 guys over for a campout. Much fun was had and so many laughs (from what I heard!).
Happy 20 years of being together to us! Covid-19 style of celebrating at Joe's. We have been there 19 of the past 20 October 3's to celebrate.
Reid got to join us! The teenagers were busy.
Jacob is 8! We celebrated with a science party in the park.
We received this message from Kyle's Young Life small group leader. He was so kind to take the time to send this to us - he's a busy OSU junior who works with kids three nights a week and holds a job at a coffee shop. This message affirms that our day-to-day grind of parenting and attitudes and emotions and nagging and loving and supporting is starting to show the fruitfulness of consistency. Thankful for Kyle to be seen this way from others, especially those older than him.
Kyle had a rough Sunday. He had Pioneer basketball tryouts on Saturday. He found out Sunday morning on a group text that he did not make the team. Basketball is his sport. It's his thing (also fishing). It is extra tough for him as he came away from tryouts so confident that he hustled and was aggressive and scored 4 of his team's 7 points when they were scrimmaging. So, lessons learned (politics and who's who) are tough but a part of life. A friend sent me this phrase shortly after the rosters were posted...
