40th Birthday

Grant decorated our bedroom door for my birthday!

Jason carded our yard for my birthday!

This is us doing "thumbs up!", "4", "0" and a "yay" pose.
Who knows?!?

A few of my gifts - flowers from Kristi, troll doll inside joke and a basket of my favorite things from Anne!

Angie had a super nice post on our office facebook page.

Jason posted for the first time on facebook and knocked it out of the park!

My parents hosted us for birthday dinner.  It was great to be out of my kitchen and all together. This picture is after Grant failed at lighting a match, then Kyle tried (failed) and then finally Reid managed to get it lit!

Here are the shots from the various photo groups!

Jason did a great job on this birthday!  lots of things to make me feel special, and he picked out a new watch for me all by himself, AND got the one I would have picked.

I got to pick out a pretty new necklace from Mom and Dad!
It was most fun to go shopping with Mom!

I had a few friends who kept asking what we were going to do to celebrate.  I finally decided to have a small fiesta in our backyard. We had everything beautiful by Wednesday. Thursday night (birthday night), a huge storm moved through, and our family spent five hours on Friday just picking up limbs and leaves. The boys were so excited (!!).

Many thanks to Jason, Mom, Angie, Julie and Kristy for pulling together my perfect party!

Complete with a frozen margarita machine!

Kristy used her super creative talents to make this cute banner.

Haven't seen this girl in way too long!  So fun to introduce her and Hunter to our friends.

It was a great way to CELEBRATE 40 YEARS!

How again can I be "this old" when I remember my parents and their friends turning 40!  Time flies - make the most of each day.

Wichita Mountains

We have been wanting to have a day trip or camping getaway for several weeks. We realized it has been since February since we've left Stillwater (other than our land!).  That's a long time!

Robber's Cave was on the list, but realized this was probably a trip that required more planning than we wanted to put forth.  The Bales also said they were going to Robber's Cave (unplanned together) but horse ride reservations were full and they wanted to do that, so they were going to Medicine Park.  Wichita Mountains were on our list (nearly the same).  So, at 6:30 am (literally), we decided to wake up the boys and go join them.

We met them there at The Holy Land (Oklahoma version).

Next stop was the Tower Trail.

Like father, like son.

All the boys at the top of Mount Scott.

My "little" peanuts and me on top of Mount Scott

We headed off to Medicine Park for some sightseeing and treats.  It was a cute little town with quite a lot going on in just a few blocks. HUGE ice cream cones for those two.

Grant (15), Malaury (14), Kyle (13), Raegan and Reid (9), Elyse (7), Hiccup (2 or 3)

Great day with great people!  We stopped in Meers on the way home to try out the burgers but no one wanted to wait in the huge line in the sun so we came home!
