Triple Happenings

Kyle lost his second tooth..... AGAIN he had a teacher pull it at school and didn't wait for his parents.  He came running out to the car that day so very proud.  And, yes, those gloves really do help him go faster on his bike.  really.  :)

I love my husband and how thorough he is at so many, many things.... but he does tend to be a bit excessive sometimes.  This picture below is a time of his excessiveness in trying to clean out our master tub.  Do you think he may have used a bit too much Dawn soap?!?!  hmmmmm.  There is no water in there - all bubbles.

This picture exemplifies a great example of his thoroughness.  This is scaffolding three levels high (two stories) as he is wrapping up finishing painting the entire upstairs ceiling and just starting on the family room walls (which as I type, he is hopefully wrapping up the second coat right now).  He is very thorough - and it has taken a long time - but those edges are perfection!  Way to go.  And, yes, I did join him on the scaffolding and paint the first coat of Avenue Tan (it was a bit high for me to enjoy!)

I remember a time - say, a year ago - when I thought "I can't wait for Reid to be just a bit bigger so we can do more things together".... and that time has come.

He is in to EVERYTHING.  The toilet paper.  Crawling up step stools.  Opening pantry doors to find multiple boxes of cereal to open and dump, one after another as I am cleaning up the previous one.  Pulling 32 oz drinks off of countertops.  Sticking his fingers in to the electrical outlets (twice).  Discovering the sliding trash can and taking trash out of it and chewing it.  Running with sticks.  Hitting his brothers in the face when they're laying down.  Babbling.  Attempting to run to the street.

He wears me out.... and I wouldn't spend my days doing anything else (most of the time!).
A few nights ago, when I went to check on the boys before going to bed, Kyle became pretty alert and wanted to start talking.  He and I stayed up until 2 a.m. talking about everything from his substitute teacher to his bedspread to the backyard to his friends.  In the middle of it, he put his sweet little hands on my cheeks (lit only by the nightlight) and preciously announced that the time spent together was the best part of his week and maybe his entire year.  He professed that he loved me so, so, so much (!!) and then asked to hug.  I got on my knees on the bed, and he stood up, and I realized he is the perfect height to hug.  His arms went all around my rib cage and his head just rested on my shoulder.  And I did "a happy cry" as he calls it.

And we stayed like that for nearly 3 minutes.  I kept trying to leave and he would kiss my shirt, or grab my hand and kiss, or lean in again for another hug.  Was he procrastinating sleep?  Probably - but I tend to think it's because he feels love and comfort, and that makes me happy.

Sweet memories.

Thanksgiving 2012 was spent with Jason's family.  The cousins always have fun playing together!
First "everyone" family picture we've had since... maybe our wedding?!?!?

We've been painting - a lot - in the new place.  Yesterday, Jason was working on the upstairs ceiling and Grant asked to help.  I heard Jason say "well, you don't have any painting clothes so just wear your underwear."

Then I hear laughing.

I hear today the reason - Jason turned around when he heard Grant say "I'm ready!" only to find that Grant was standing upstairs stark naked with just his socks on his feet.  :)  Looks like he left on the wrong article of clothing.

Kids can say some of the cutest things....

Today, Kyle and I were coloring a picture that had cows.  He has made one be white and black, and I started coloring one with brown spots.  He then grabbed a dark pink color and said "well, if we have that cow making white milk and your making chocolate milk, then we need a pink cow to make strawberry milk" and then very seriously continued.

We then had a little talk about how all milk is white, and he truly, truly thought the milk came out either white, chocolate or strawberry!  :)

I love innocence!

Kyle's class had a fun Fall Party!  It's a great group of kids (and parents!) with a super teacher!

Grider Pumpkin Patch 2012

Welcome, Jacob!  This was the boys first time to meet their cousin.  They, especially Kyle, are so happy to have a baby in the family again.

Mr. and I were outside Daddy's office one afternoon and he was very happy so I took a few pictures!  They turned out so cute, especially for being impromptu!  He's a keeper!

This white hair... it's about time to trim it... but I don't really want to because not only will it make him look older but it means he will be old enough to need haircuts.... it will be my "last first haircut"...  :(

Here's our turkey craft the boys did with Nana last week!  It's the only Thanksgiving decoration out at our house.

Grant's class did not have a "fall party" but his teacher does a Medieval Feast each fall.  Each kid had to make their own helmet/princess hat, design and color their personal crest on a tunic they each had to cut and sew (with teacher's help!).  I thought it was a great idea and good experience for the kids.  Reid and I were able to go help and Grant was glad to have us there.
There was a variety of medieval fare but Grant chose to go the pepperoni pizza route!  :)  His crest - the "dragon" in the center means brave and the "M" shape is the symbol for first born.  Each color has a meaning but I don't remember them.
Best bud, William.
The class.
I just snapped this tonight at bathtime.  They're rarely in the tub together, and at least they're all looking!
Love those sweet boys!

This is a normal activity for Reid.  I don't know how many times a day he empties this drawer and I get to pick it up.  I finally rigged it so he can't open it and he moved on to finding the cereal boxes in the pantry and dumping Rice Krispies on the floor... so I am thinking this may not be so bad after all!

OSU v West Virginia

Jason was invited to go to a game on the field again this year so we had four extra tickets!  We decided to take our friends D and K, also brothers, who are our old neighbors.  Their mommy watches Reid during the games so it's a good trade out for everyone!

Boys wanted face painting!  Kyle chose the Pistol Pete look (the only one to do so yet this day!). We thought it was the perfect look for him!

There's Jason in the khaki pants and orange shirt.  Directly next to him in a gray shirt is Brandon Weedon.
We won by nearly 20 points!  Great game, Pokes!

Presidential Election 2012

President Barack Obama was re-elected yesterday.
That's all I am going to post about that... it's just history that needs to be included in our blog books.

yes, I did just change the background to be Christmas.  :)  It's not that I am ready for it to be here, it's that my house isn't decorated yet for fall so I am skipping Thanksgiving decorations since it is in 2 weeks and moving along.... HO HO HO!
