Juke Joint Jog 2013

Our family went to the Eskimo Joes Juke Joint Jog again this year.  We saw many friends there as well!  Isaac and Sam both signed up for the 5K with their dads; we didn't even think about doing that - we just did the Family Fun Run that is a mile!

And the racers are off!!!  Kyle has a very serious look of determination!

You can notice Grant on the left side.... NOT at the beginning of the pack... YET!

THERE HE IS!!!!!!!!!
Grant placed FIRST out of all of the runners.  Mom said "I think that's Grant" and I was amazed.  He hustled his rear in gear for this race.

WHOA!  NO WAY!  There's KYLE, too!
Kyle had just passed one of his friends from school (and dentist daddy!) to get the THIRD place finish for the race.

You can see Jason in the orange on the left.  I believe his exact words were "they smoked me" as he was hustling to keep up.  I didn't even come close to expecting this, so I didn't keep track of time.  It does appear they were right over an 8 minute mile.

Here are the top four finishers!

Lawsons, Sallaskas, Walkers... AND, Joe and Buffy

"The Support Staff"
No strollers were allowed in the race so we "Stroller Moms" enjoyed watching the festivities from the sidelines.

We then finished the evening by pitching the tent on this glorious fall evening.
However, Grant and Kyle both came in about 9:15 and said they were too tired and went to their own beds!  Now, THAT, means they're tired!

Football - kiddo style

This was super fun - flag football practice at the new OSU practice fields!
Here are all of my boys playing around before practice started!

Kyle and his friends running some drills.

Teaching him young... OOOOO --- SSSSS --- then I didn't get a "U" but still....  :)

The boys both had their first games today.  Kyle is wearing the black pants on the gray team - near the left side of picture.

HAPPY!!!

Sam and Bryson

Grant's team is the lighter blue color on the left.  He is the quarterback in this picture, with pants on.

He got to have a passing play - his arm is up in the air, and the ball is right by the light pole - up, up and away... but dropped!

Orange attire

I get to spend some time at school this year, and during my last visit, I spent lunchtime with my favorite first grader.  Our sweet friend, A, joined us, too!

GAME DAY!!!!
We love being in this town!  On our way to the season home opener this year.

 Mom and her boys

Thanks, sweet lady, who offered to take our family picture after she spotted Jason taking the family w/o his handsome face!

Go Pokes Go!

I just can't get enough of this sweet profile sometimes!
He was very intent on watching the team and Bullet.

The forgotten pictures!

Here are the other pictures that I knew were somewhere.... Jason's phone!
Here are the boys lounging during the first football game of the season!

G and his buddy playing their College Football PS3 game.
Boy bonding, apparently.  I don't get it.

This is our kitchen, with our backsplash that we wanted gone, but it's still gracing our cabinets.  Our microwave decided to go kaput, so while it is out, there is a vacant cubby in which Jason thought Reid would fit nicely.  He does!

Let's all say it together.... ahhhh... preciousness if there ever was such a word!!!!

My dad usually works from home on Fridays, and my parents met the boys at school last week for lunch.

This was how exciting the second OSU football game was - Grant and I were cuddled up and not really even watching it!  He's my sweet cuddler boy!

While Kyle was away at his sleepover mentioned in the previous post, we took Grant and Reid to play a little golf.  Here are my boys warming up on the putting green and driving range.  Grant didn't hit very well and it was hard on his ego - he sure likes to be great at everything he tries.

My job: Go, Team Walker, Go!

Happiness!

So this one is interesting.... Kyle tells me he is going to go shoot hoops, and next thing I know, he is shirtless and playing.  I view this as a bit inappropriate on a hot, but not blazing hot, day for a 6 year old.  I asked him why he was 1/2 naked, and he said "because this is how all the big guys play, and I am a big guy," turned around and continued to shoot.
Thoughts on my 6 year old thinking he is 18!?!?

Two of his favs... Bryson and Sam.
