N40 Berries

Kristy's crew - which is currently 6 kids - invited us to go pick blackberries with them yesterday.

we went to the local favorite and had a great time!  Our friend's family, Heidi, owns the farm and were so great to teach us about what and what not to do!

Our family picked more than a pound and a half.  We made a few cobblers for neighbors and us last night and have a lot of fresh yummies for the week in our fridge!

Fair Hills 2016

It's Fair Hills time! We haven't been since 2013 and were excited to go! What made it more fun this year is that the Morgan family - Sean, Juliane, Barrett, Bodey, Baylor and Berklee - joined my parents and us for the vacation.

My view for 13 hours in the car - the Morgan's car!

our family got a free upgrade to our hotel room - whoop!

This was in South Dakota - that's the Tom Hall family in the SUV - we passed at mile marker 150!

this was from inside their car looking at us - you can see Jason waving!  love this!

these two...

annual stop at the World's Largest Pelican!

we let the kids stick their heads out of the sunroof as we drove in to the resort.

This blanket - our friend, Adam Teather, who is one of our 4th week friends, knitted this for us and left as a surprise present when he found out our family was coming the week after his. What a neat gesture!

and the boys got socks!!!

Our cabin has three bedrooms and these two were roomies, but it always ended up as bedmates! Kyle loves to snuggle.

As we drove in, all the grounds in MN looked dry. Well, glad we could show up so the rains could, too!  It POURED on Monday of our visit - so much so, this area flooded.

the boys - including Jason - played softball!

Barrett and Grant on a boat for ski/wakeboarding lessons

I was a cool parent and let the kids practice driving on the golf carts. Kyle is a solid driver.

Picture night. I think this was Wednesday.  I apparently didn't get the memo to wear a cute outfit!  Thankful for these two to have joined in the fun this year!

this is our new friend, Julie, who lives in Minnesota.  She and Josh have a 9 year old and 6 year old that fit in perfectly with our kids.

Love these two!

When out of room on the golf cart, you improvise! Baybay's spot!

Closest to the Pin Winner!  8' from the hole.

Sean "got" to participate in the Hobby Horse race! Jason was his spotter.

It turned out as great for him as it did for Jason
(they both lost)

I think this one is darling!

Reid and I canoed across the lake and back (2.5 miles) one evening.
Grant did it the following afternoon without telling us where he was going so we were a bit frustrated at that but did enjoy his independent behavior this trip.

oh, who won all of the contests, you ask?!
The Walkers, Halls, and Morgans did a great job!

an attempt at a nap didn't last more than 30 seconds.

knocked his drive right by the flag! Grant did a super job at golf this week!

Waterslide!  100 feet of reinforced plastic and a sloped golf hole make for some grassy, muddy fun!

Hootenanny!

Mr. Dave Kahdahl

cutest storks, er, uh, Pelicans ever!

the rain finally cleared for these two to go get their ski lessons!

cabin game time

lodge game time

this is Reid - bet you really thought it was a scary monster, though, right?!  :)

being brave to go try to jump off of the tower for the first time!
He ended up going off five times total.

a little "I did it" fist pumps!

Juliane and Barrett attempting simultaneous back dives

Kyle's new friend, Jack.

It took me until Friday evening to have all three of our kids in one spot to take a few pictures of them together!

a busy week made this sweet boy fall asleep during a few meals!

Friday dining hall dancing!

and he's still asleep after all of that fun!

playground tunnels and imaginative play

golfing with Bubba and GG

As always, it was a great trip with fun memories. We were thankful for the cooler temperatures but could have done without two days of rain!  Doesn't this look fun? Do you want to go, too?
