Our masonry expert!

Jason has become our rock wall masonry expert!  We have an acre of property, and the entire area of the backyard that is fenced in was covered with these huge rocks (I mean everywhere!) and loads of weeds when we bought it.  He has since moved every.single.rock/boulder.  Eeek! (and, I might add, lost 30 pounds in the process).

He has had two major rock projects.
This is one: the path going to the back of the Koi pond and trampoline area.

This flowerbed area is the second one. Our yard is sloped so these can now add some color and get some of the slope used efficiently.

Yea, Jason - they look great!  Here's hoping this coming year will be the year we can get grass to grow in the back yard!

Christmas Eve and traditions

We made our annual Christmas sugar cookies with GG this year.

Bubba and Reid decorated a tray by themselves!

Christmas Eve has been spent with my family for years.  Dad had a creative certificate for Jason this year - in honor of his speeding ticket from September.

Chase decorated Reid with a ribbon and he left it on for quite a while... lovely!

This is as close as we got to a family picture that day - selfie in the driveway before we went to our Christmas Eve service at church!

Candlelight portion at the end.  Truly beautiful.

Walker family Christmas

Our Christmas day tradition is to go to Jason's parents.  Papa isn't feeling too well with his treatments for liver and colon cancer.  We were glad to get some great pictures with him before an early bedtime!

The four originals to our big group.

Chase, GG, and Bubba came to check out our Santa goods right when we got home. We took a quick family picture...

...and grandparent picture...

... and Chase shot Mom with a dart - hard...

Merry Christmas, y'all!  That's how we roll around here...

Christmas morning

Santa visited our house - they must have been good throughout the year!

Our wish lists this year went into these categories: Something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read.

I think we were hoping to only get four presents plus a few stocking items, and for the most part, that's how it went at Christmas. There were a few books, or a few pants, but all gifts had a category.

Grant and Kyle were both given a Samsung tablet.  They have kids mode and can be monitored so we're happy about that extra security.

Merry Christmas, my loves!
We had our Happy Birthday, Jesus, party at breakfast like usual before heading out to Vanoss for the rest of the day.
