A little bit of family history for you is that my great grandparents once had the bakery in Tipton, OK. After my grandfather died and the kids were helping sort stuff with Granny, they divided up the items. My mom grabbed the antique butter churn... for the first time, we made butter this weekend!
Directions said to mix for about 30 minutes - no. It took every bit of an hour to churn before it started to harden. We were thankful there were several of us there to take turns - no idea how one would do it all!
Very cool experience but it just makes me that much more thankful for the convenience of Braums and the ease of modern appliances. whew...
