A super fun movement taking place in Stillwater are these fun, positive signs. One of our friends saw these on a visit over Christmas in Arkansas. Long story short, she was able to use his supplier, found local sponsors after a quick facebook post, and there are now 941 signs placed and/or requested. There are 16 different messages and the signs are two sided.
I have been able to be involved in the early stages. Fun group of women with the best of intentions and kindest hearts.
Christmas fun - Reid updated his Mii on the Wii.
Just some cute boys warming up by the fire!
Eddie... he is a mess! But, oh so cute... he even knew better than to try to look me in the eye!
Jason and the guys working on the dozer at the land.
Fozzie is Eddie's new play friend.
He did it AGAIN!
These two have figured out how to work the system - Kellyn asks me for a treat, and Reid asks Kristi... We have started saying no more often.
This was a scary day. This picture shows the bottom of Eddie's chin, which is scraped. This was after he decided to fly out of the van window while I was driving. Fortunately, I was going 10-15 mph. He landed hard and stumbled a long for a bit, but was physically fine.
The first snow of the year was fairly solid! It was on a weekend so that was more fun, too.
Is it normal to wear your fleece PJ pants and snow boots?!
A boy and his dog... we have missed this, and didn't even know it!
Reid has his bout with "the flu" (we didn't go to the doctor but...)
Grant bought a truck! Thanks to Libby and Gerardo for being generous and for taking care of this Tacoma for 14 years. Grant is pumped!
I'd say we know how to make some cute baby boys!
We burned the debris pile at the land - super fun!
He is again refusing to make eye contact. He found Reid's "snack pile" in his bookbag, and decided to eat granola bars and boxes of raisins. Yes, he can unzip a zipper if he tries hard enough. Since this, he has also chewed sweatpant strings, 2 shoelaces, a makeup brush, and literally sucked liquid foundation out of a container.
Good thing he's cute!
KYLE IS THIRTEEN!
He wanted some chick-fil-a for dinner.
Two nights in a row.
Very adventurous, that one!
Kyle Douglass Walker, you are a joy and a pill all rolled up in to one stylish, smiling, stinky-tooting loud teenager. I love watching you get new hobbies and interests, and trying to navigate the life of a middle schooler. You bring so much joy to so many. Although you and I disagree and argue more than anyone, I wouldn't change one darn thing about you because you are perfect in His image and I cannot wait to see where the next 5 and 10 and 20 years will take you!
His cake was a fishing cake this year.
For his party, he heard from a female friend about a mall scavenger hunt. We did it! They really had a great time. Picked up a cake at the mall... easy peasy.
Jason and Reid finish up their season tomorrow. Love that Jason takes the time, 3 days a week, to pour in to these little fellas to not only make them better basketball players, but to learn the basics of life and to hopefully trigger something to make them better men.
Love me some #5 this season!
We had quite a fan group at Kyle's last home game!
We hosted Grant's KLife group for the Super Bowl. All in all, it is a different group than his usual group but it was so easy and fun! They spend a few hours every week together and I think they all enjoyed just the chance to relax together.
This picture was taken right at the end of the game. We had one kid pulling for the 49ers, and everyone else for the Chiefs.
Stilly has gotten in the habit of cancelling school early if the weather forecast seems a bit dicey. They called it early in the evening for the next day. Poor Jason still had to go to work so the boys and I stayed up and watched a movie until 12:30! Good memories!
Kyle took off with some friends on the snow day but Grant, Reid and I hung out at home, went exploring and sledding at my parents' house.
Sledding video
We make do with what we can find for a snowman... peanut butter crackers sufficed for the eyes and buttons this year.
He actually said "My truck looks great with snow on it." :) So proud.
It was soon Kyle's turn to be sick. He came home from school with a 102.9 and slept for two days.
Eddie was getting a bath in the sink to the left. Reid didn't have the best grip and Eddie hopped out. When he hopped out, the washing machine lid was up, and Eddie went down! OMG. Again, took a picture when I realized he was safe.
Reid found this bee and observed it for quite a while. He wanted it included in the blog. :)
I bought myself a carpet cleaner. Our "clean" house was so dirty, and this is just part of one room.
