Oklahoma had record cold temperatures and the most snow the kiddos have seen at home. Trying to raise outwardly minded kiddos, we asked them to do service around the neighborhood. Grant and Reid shoveled the mailbox area and the really long sidewalk on 19th between our neighborhood entrances (I did, too).
Baseball has officially started for Grant. He scored a run on his first at-bat as well!
The kids got to do this really cool thing - it is called SCHOOL! FINALLY, they went back the last week of February, even if only for 2 days. Yay! So good for everyone.
Celebrating afterwards with a blast!
OSU opened their baseball season in the new O'Brate Stadium. These aren't "our real seats" but just our Covid season seats. We love them!
Reid still loves to play and imagine - usually wars, history, oceans, planes, etc. This was an army base and he had all sorts of stuff on the inside of the secure walls.
Our #1 bambino turned 16! Crazy how fast it has flown. We celebrated one night with the grandparents and one night with friends going out to eat and axe throwing. He is loved!
Malaury came with us to watch Grant's game. It was fun having a girl to chat with about any and everything!
The Garage with Max.
Basketball for Kyle and his teammate is one of my high school best friend's kid! Small world!
On Monday night, the Pioneers played baseball in Broken Arrow. Jason and I did not go. We were watching the game on the online app and saw that Grant got out trying to steal bases, which isn't a typical place for him to make errors. About 30 minutes later, the coach calls Jason and lets him know that they're pretty sure Grant has had a concussion but he couldn't explain how it happened or anything else. I get in touch with a friend who is there, and she doesn't realize this has happened, and goes to the dugout and finds the BA trainer examining him. I get to talk to the trainer and he gives me an update - basically, Grant has lost all memory for about a week prior, including turning 16 (he said he was 15 and his birthday was in a couple weeks). Thankfully, his friends knew this was wrong and said so. Grant threw up in the dugout and was sleeping during the game. Our sweet friend ended up driving him home during which Grant called us 3 times to tell us he was riding with Mrs. Shelly home. He asked her, she said, no less than 20 times how it happened. Very scary when he has no recollection. He got in bed at 10:05 pm and Jason and I checked on him all night. By Tuesday, he remembered more details from the previous week. No headache. Slept 29 of 34 hours. Wednesday, he wanted to go to school and is down to a 4 hour window of no memory. Glad it lasted as short as it did, but still no fun!
Also on Wednesday... this happened! He felt up to taking his driver's test (which we made appt for months ago so I was glad!) and he passed with an A! Yay, Grant boy!
On Thursday, I took my kiddo to Meridian for the last time. We left at 7am with Reid and got donuts to celebrate/mourn. A whole new step towards becoming an adult! Love you and proud of you!
First official drive on Friday!
