Crested Butte

We planned to go ski this Christmas break and then were invited by our friends to their home in Crested Butte so off we went to see a new mountain!
Thanks to the Waits family for being great hosts!
Happy campers but a little cramped in the truck.
Our view from our bedroom that morning - Mount Crested Butte
Getting the boys off to the slopes on Day 1.
I chose not to ski this year.
Eddie and I took the open morning to walk around the town. He loved the snow and this was the best picture I could get because he wouldn't stop!
Grant stayed with me in the afternoon so we went grocery shopping

Jason and Reid
So much snow. So very different from the New Mexico places we tend to visit.
Grabbing drinks at the base after the first day.

pizza for dinner at the local hot spot.
Getting ready for the OSU bowl game

Everyone was in bed at halftime.

Day 2 on the slopes

The girls took a "little" walk 3.5 miles in the snow.

It started out so fun and then with the deep snow and the high altitude, I just got exhausted. Whew.
2 miles of it was like this.
Breaktime

Meanwhile on the mountain all of the fellas met up and had lunch.

Traveling home, Jason wanted some fresh air and opened the sunroof.
It made a loud popped and then wouldn't shut.  Kinda cold.
We were finally able to yank it back and reverse the pop to get it to shut.
They weren't too happy.
