Eureka Springs

We were able to spend four days with our friends, the Waits family, at their Eureka Springs home.  This is as unlike Kristine as you'll ever find - donut and beer!  It was vacation!

Their home is in the center of town and we were able to walk to so many things.  One day, I tracked 77 flights of stairs on my fitbit - it is a hilly place!

Reiders picked me a flower to wear!

I drove on Thursday morning to meet Kristine and her kids. The dads were coming on Thursday night but a huge storm hit and they needed to wait until Friday.  This is how my bed ended up looking that night - K and R wanted to cuddle with mom!

On our way to the airport, we hiked up an observation tower to see the view.

Jason took these from his flight!

waiting on Dad!

We literally pulled over to the side of the road for this treat right after the airport - swimming in an Arkansas river in undies!

With dads in tow, we explored more of the city that afternoon.

we escaped with 6 minutes to spare!

Reiders pulled a top tooth AND was stung by a wasp within minutes of each other during one of our excursions!

The adults had a date night on Friday night - let the kids order pizza and watch a movie. We walked "up the hill" (or a mountain) and had dinner at this quaint Italian eatery.

Saturday - hiked to the dam at the lake

more swimming and jumping!

more exploring.  This is the famous "haunted" Crescent hotel.

One of the highlights - first Saturday of every month - the Drum Circle.  Everyone brings their drums or instruments and plays beats.  It was so hippie and quirky and fun!

Also this weekend - Diversity Weekend - in an already diverse locale.  You can see the pretty rainbow decorations adorning the town and children.

Saturday night - game night.

a real Bridges of Madison County bridge!!
