and tears are rolling down my cheeks after this one! I have the best Mom and the best answer to her (and my!) prayers!

God's Angels
Last week, my Heavenly Father was answering some major prayers for my earthly daddy and best friend. He was busy....
and I am SOOO thankful he feels these two angels still have a lot of work to do for him on earth!
So Thankful.

Today's Society...
Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel , "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land."
Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said “Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land.”
Today, Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land! I was so depressed last night thinking about Healthcare plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called a Suicide Hotline.
I had to press 1 for English. I was connected to a call center in Pakistan . I told them I was suicidal. They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck…

tidbits
- in response to looking at a friend's new baby's photos... and he was in a few from the hospital so he was extra interested.... "She sure is cute and now they finally have a chance to be a real mom and dad," said Grant after viewing the pictures.
- Kyle's preschool teacher: "So, the other day we were in our small groups and I was talking to them when all of a sudden Kyle just breaks out in to this big belly laugh for a few seconds. I ask him "Kyle, was that funny?" and he gets very serious with a slight scowl and says "No, it was not" which then caused me to laugh and he got upset at me then."
- Kyle's preschool teacher: "it is very interesting for me to have had both of them and to learn their personalities. They aren't much alike, are they?!?!" "ummmmm, no"
- Grant announced last week as he got in the car after school something to this affect: "Mom, I am just not going to go to school anymore because all I am going to do is just play sports and therefore I don't need to go to school. Just sports. Period." uh-huh. so we just happen to be driving by the campus and I let him know that all those players he has met and likes all go to school, too.... so far, so good!

Why Blog?
In this age of so many forms of easy communication and social networking, why a blog? Wouldn't it just be easier to post it all on facebook for my 841 friends to see? or email to the family members and friends who (amazingly) haven't joined the trend to get an account?
Because I can!
This blog is a place for me to capture small moments and details and simple, funny stories about the life that my little family is creating.
When I first learned about my pregnancy with Grant, it was within days that I started keeping a journal, detailing every little thought and writing down doctor appointment stats and blah blah blah. Love it! I was so good at updating his journal even when life was crazy, and I was working 2 jobs and Jason was gone 6 days a week for school, residency, and his job. I think it is updated until he is about 4 years old. Also started one for Kyle... his is up-to-date (not nearly as many entries as Grant's one) to about age 2.
This blog, however, lets me detail it all! It is so much easier to think of a story and be able to hop online to write it down (there are some posts that are not made public on a blog, by author discretion) than to find both journals, write it down twice...
Technology is great. In fact, there are quite a few sites where one can upload their blog, and have a book printed. And that is just what we're doing. Our blog since 2008 will be about $40 to print so far, in full color, with a hard-back covering.
So, for me, this blog is my scrapbook. The important photos I want to share are here along with happenings of our lives and what we're doing. I truly believe in 10 or 20 or 30 years, if the Internet is still around (!) this is a keepsake. and, if not, I will be so thankful I had the chance to "scrapbook" my family through this blog. and, since I'm not a creative person, this straight-forward typing is much simpler.
So that is why I blog! And if anyone chooses to read it, then that is an extra bonus!!!

age...shmage
While spending time in college, it seems the students thought the world (at least the town) revolved around them. As a young family, in the same town, it's amazing to me how separate the college life is from the "normal" life here, other than more traffic!
---------
the reason I wanted to make a quick post right now is to share my thoughts on age and beauty.... it doesn't peak at 18 or 20 or 24 like gossip magazines and Hollywood tends to portray females in pictures, roles and stories. Sure, at that age, most girls are pretty.
No brown spots. No fine likes around the eyes. No stretch marks from carrying a child inside your belly.
But I have had the chance to be around several friends from college in the past year because of baby showers, get-to-gathers, random run-ins at restaurants and OSU events....
Every single lady is prettier now than when they were 20.
----I am amazed by each of you. Not only is your outer beauty so wonderful, but man, lovely ladies on the inside shining by far more brightly! It's been great to see my close friends and acquaintances mature and become such LOVELY women. Perhaps it's that we are "with the trends" now (some of us; we Walkers still struggle in that area and always will), or we're truly independent, and it's taken a lot of life lessons in the past decade (plus) to get there.... but for whatever your reason, and there are tons, I am so proud to see my friends become wonderful mothers, successful business workers, great teachers, involved community leaders, lights of Christ, happy wives (and although there have been unsuccessful marriages, too, those friends of ours have grown).
I've basically rambled... but my point is clear: women get more and more beautiful as time goes on. More quickly than we'd like, I'm sure we will start to resemble "old" ladies, but the insides of my friends and peers is so much prettier now than ever. And TRULY, EACH of you is prettier now than you were at 18. I can't think of one who isn't! (have you SEEN some of those Party Pix from 1999?!?!?)
LOVE YOU!
