6th birthday

Grant's party was tonight at a local pizza place. We had been there only one time before for a party, and it proved to be a great choice. The kids (and adults!) get to have a tour of the kitchen, watch pizza dough being made, the birthday child gets to participate in tossing the dough in the air, and then they each get to make their own pizza. All this is followed up by miniature golf in the dark room so everything glows in the dark!

and, for this Mom, it was great to come home to a clean house!!! :)
Grant is getting is "dough throwing" fingers ready! Hopefully I'll get the video on here later!
Here is the birthday collage! He was able to have a few friends from school as well as some cousins! The theme was Sports! I made cupcakes for each of the boys (figured it was easier than forks and cutting and plates) and then also a cake for the family members and other adults that stayed to watch!

Smart Boys

I walked in to the kitchen a few days ago, and this is what I found on our refrigerator... Kyle can't spell very many words, but there you go on what is important to him! His favorite car!
This was a valentine present to Grant - it is a 300 piece puzzle that he probably did at least 250 of the pieces by himself. At age 5. I know... what a guy!

Olive Garden and Target

That was our date, on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 - exactly six years ago today! Jason and I went to eat Olive Garden and then were going to go see a movie, but decided instead to go finish up some last-minute baby shopping for Mr. Grant! It's a good thing we did since only a few hours in to my sleep did my water break and his arrival was eminent!
And what a great, fun, blessed, happy six years it has been!

My Boys

  • Kyle enjoys some "fifty and seven sauce" with his food at dinner.

  • Kyle screamed the other day when we were playing kitchen. He was delivering food to the customers in the living room (his restaurant is named Turtle's Place) when he yelled. It went like this "MOM! I know how to spell TV! S...O...N...Y!" and then he sounded out the "t" sound and the "v" sound while looking at Sony!

  • I was assisting Kyle in picking out his church clothes. He grabbed a handsome blue and brown dress shirt and brown pants. I went to his drawer and got some khaki socks to go with it and he said "Mom, your socks match the pants. I need brown socks." I said "this is close enough." "No, Mom, we need to go to Walmart and get dark brown socks so I can look pretty." oh jeez...

  • Putting Grant to bed tonight - he asks me to cuddle with him (okay!), and then continues to tell me that I'm his "honey sugar baby bear sweetheart most precious beautiful girl in his life and will always be" - that kid is great for me ego.

  • Season opener for the OSU baseball season - ANY song that was played over the loudspeaker, and you could easily spot my boys, mainly Grant, acting like a crazy fool and dancing hard-core to the song. Usually with his turquoise and yellow sunglasses, and OSU baseball hat turned sideways. We laughed.

Snow Days!

Record-setting temperatures (it reached around -19 at our house on Wednesday) and about 8" of fresh snow arrived this week! When the sun came out, we made our way outside to enjoy the fun!

Here is a collage of Kyle - stomping, smiling, snowballing, snowman-making... and then a "I AM SO COLD" face!
Grant goofing around in the snow. We were able to sled down the hill with our neighbors and then just like last year, another neighbor got his golf cart involved in sled rides!
One of the fun things of having my parents in the neighborhood while they build their house is the ability to play when driving isn't really an option. The boys engaged them in quite a snowball fight for a while!
Pure JOY!
Still smiling, even after a snowball directly to the face!

Office website!

Hi, readers! I just wanted to share my latest promotion for the office - our website! It's pretty much ready to promote on our marketing materials, except I do need to take photos of our staff to update and personalize the staff page. Otherwise, I'd love to hear your comments - both good and suggestive - on it!

One issue we have had in marketing is the lack of a logo. Our tag line, Advanced Family Dentistry, was more then $3000 to use as a domain name, so we stuck with the simple name. I have been wanting to design a logo for 3 1/2 years now, but due to the fact we are a two-dentist office for who knows how much longer, we can't quite move forward on that project.

that's the marketing update!
