This day was spent in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Our Olympic Training Center tour (one of my favs from the trip!)
I love everything Olympics so this was so fun to see! Spot Karch?!
our wardrode model
Not all sports prepare here, but a lot of the non-snow ones headquarter here.
The building is their cafeteria. Up to 140 resident athletes live here, and then behind this building are regular dorms for visiting athletes and high school prospects. Once they are residents, all expenses are paid and most get a stipend.
I asked if I could go to the court... I was politely declined! waa waa
the fitness center
the ramp goes to the (mind has drawn a blank) place where they light the torch that stays on - this is a real one from a US Olympics
By the torch
Look what else is headquartered here?!?
ChickFila is right by our hotel! :)
Next stop on this Saturday was the Air Force Academy.
cadet dorms
hiking
everything is always "so" politically "correct"
Reid spotted the AF practice baseball field and asked to do a lap - SO Reid!
then he did another.... :)
that evening we drove to Denver for the Rockies game.
It was Marvel bobblehead night.
First thing we did after entering the stadium was to run up to the purple row of seats - these are officially a mile high!
the view from up top!
from our seats looking back at where we were.
Mr. Reiders had a ball thrown to him during batting practice because he was the only one who said Please when screaming for a ball! :)
Grant and Kyle walked the warning track
He got a ball during the game!!!
