Colorado Days 3 and 4

Pikes Peak, Cliff Dwellings, Manitou Springs and The Broadmoor

This was the only day it did not rain on us - Pikes Peak - gorgeous weather!

see Jason? We were so excited to see the snow so he hiked to go get some... then Reid threw it as soon as he touched it.  Ironic timing because as we went around the next turn, snow was everywhere on the side of the road!

It was chilly up top but not too bad.  Both Reid and Kyle very quickly showed signs of altitude sickness.  When we googled Mount Everest and learned it was most than twice this high, we were amazed - wowzer.

We stopped by the cliff dwellings driving back...

Dinner was in Manitou at this great local Mexican place and we followed it up by a visit to the Penny Arcade.

Monday
Zoo day!
The first exhibit is the giraffes and they can be fed lettuce. We (Jason) fell as suckers to this option. Fun was had by all.

This one is particularly funny to me - he came out of nowhere and looked right at me!

look closely... (UGH!)
This is the beginning of the feeding from the faces... so gross... Jason started it...

a hilly zoo was a lot for these little legs!
