3rd and 1st grade

Here they are ready to go at school!
My sweet third grader and friendly first grader and curious little man!

School starts at 8 a.m. thanks to some "wonderful" new ideas.  We were up at 6:50 if you are wondering about the puffy eyes - they're not fans of the time change!

Breakfast of champions - their favorite cinnamon rolls and fruit on our Your Are Special plates.

Grant got ready quickly and spent part of his morning making some jump shots.

Mommy's time to take pictures!
He has Mrs. Burnett this year, a previous neighbor of ours!

 He has Mrs. Tackett.

Brothers and best buddies!

I then went to wake up Reid at 7:20 and Grant had a sweet little chat with him.  I walked in to hear "all of those summer days where we hung out are over and I have to go bye bye now."  Pretty cute moment.

Back home - special time ahead for just us!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I took our annual school sign photo this year a few days early on Meet The Teacher evening to avoid having to deal with the crowds on our first day of school.  This is a great keepsake that I am so thankful to have luckily started when Grant was in pre-k and to continue it each year.
Weren't they just the sweetest little pudgy things not that long ago!?!

Mrs. Tackett (in pink) was Kyle's kindergarten teacher.  Grant's first grade teacher retired so there was an opening and Mrs. Tackett prefers 1st so she applied, and got it!  yea!
Lucky for us, he gets to have her AGAIN!  Only three students from his class are in there (the other two are girls!) so it will be a great year to make new friends yet feel comfortable already knowing his teacher.

Westwood is a great school, but one special thing about it is the Excel program.  It's usually just 2nd grade, but this year, EVERY class gets the help of an OSU education major for like 3 hours/day.  How great is that?  Plus, with recent redistricting, Kyle's class size is only 19.  Yea!
Grant's is 22, down from 25 last year.
