Thanksgiving, Walker style.

GOBBLE GOBBLE!
Thanksgiving 2013 was a successful celebration for our family this year.
Since we have been married, Jason and I have alternated years between our families.  This year, it was the Hall year.  Mom, having just had her surgery, wasn't able to host so we happily agreed.  Also staying local meant we were able "to do more" than normal, and our first order of fulfilling that opportunity was to give back to others.  Our family signed up to help decorate for the community Thanksgiving meal at a local church.  We feel it is so important to start teaching the guys at a young age about making a difference in any way you are able - for them, it's their time and energy.
Big boys ready to help out!!!

Total bummer.... this is what I was up with all Wednesday night with - a throwing up baby!  Pitiful little thing finally fell asleep on his floor because I didn't want to return him to his bed (future parents take note: WAY easier to clean up a towel than crib sheet, mattress pad, bumpers, stuffed animals, AND the baby).

Kyle's artwork for the day.  Three brothers.  Not exactly sure who is who as I don't have a son with black hair.

Being in charge this year provided a few "learning experiences" for me, including this gross monstrosity that we Americans feel needs to be the staple of this holiday.  I thought a "turkey breast" wasn't inclusive of the hole and junk inside.... WRONG.  Needless to say, I was surprised when I tore apart the packaging.

We cooked it in a crockpot thanks to some friendly advice (thanks, Pat!) and it was SO yummy.  Great idea (and more room in the oven!).  This was Jason's contribution to the meal - grrrrring while he cut the turkey and ham.

We found the wishbone inside that turkey (boneless preferred, anyone?!?!?).
Kyle won!

Reid found some energy and found all sorts of hiding spots throughout the weekend.
It's cute because he really did think he was hiding.

And, of course, the closed eyes mean that we cannot see HIM sitting on the shelf.

Aunt Val and Chase joined us, as well as my parents.

Chase has been growing a mustache all month, and my dear doll decided to shave so he, too, would have a mustache, and then strike this amazingly handsome (bleh) pose to showcase its beauty.

We finished the weekend with a lot of outside play and football.
This also included 62 bags of leaves from the backyard.

Reiders once again helping Jason do some yard work!
